MICHAEL STONE Since childhood, Michael has been inspired by the repertoire of the Great American Songbook--the music of Rodgers and Hart, Arlen, Mercer, Van Heusen and many others--and how it was interpreted by the great song stylists of the era. Throughout his many years as a featured singer with The Shedd Institute’s Oregon Festival of American Music, as well as formerly with The Emerald City Jazz Kings, he has had the privilege to explore this potent canon of work extensively. A graduate of the UO School of Music, he has performed in various venues in Oregon and New Mexico. Michael resides in Portland, where he operates a personal consulting business specializing in interior design and relocation services for retirees. For pleasure, he enjoys hiking, volunteering, and landscaping with drought tolerant and native species.
